Breakfast:
  • Instant:
    • Toast bread. Cut a clove of garlic and grate over the rough surface. Cut an overripe tomato and grate on too. 
    • Make some instant oatmeal and top with dried and/or fresh fruits, greek yogurt, toasted nuts and some ground flexseeds.
    • Spread bread with pesto and top with chopped tomato, mozzarella cheese. Toast to make bruschetta. 
    • Try using Tahini and honey to replace peanut butter for a change.
    • Dip toasts in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
    • Dip toasts in Tahini and balsamic vinegar.
    • Try almond butter to replace peanut butter.
    • Mix strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and kiwi with Greek style yogurt. Top with granola and ground flexseed.

  • McMuffin Variations:
    • Fry one egg with pinch of kosher salt and pepper.

    • Protein:
      • Turkey breast, chicken breast, any sandwich meat
      • Smoked salmon or salted trout
      • Ham, shredded leftover chicken, pork, turkey, beef
      • Homemade chicken breast
      • Tuna, from a can or homemade
      • Good ol' bacon or Canadian bacon
    • One slice of cheese,
      • American
      • Cheddar
      • Swiss
      • Pepper Jack cheese
      • Gruyere
      • Goat cheese
      • Feta cheese
    • One to two slices of tomato
      • one to two slices of avocado
      • Slices of cucumber
    • Condiment: 
      • one tablespoon of Guacamole
      • Hollandaise sauce
      • Hot chili sauce
      • Pesto
      • Salsa
      • Shichimi  Togarashi (七味唐辛子)
      • Steak sauce
      • Good ol' butter (use the real deal)

  • Minimum Cooking:
    • Put some tomato sauce or salsa in an oven-safe ramekin. Crack 1 to 2 eggs over the top and bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes. Eat with toasted bread. 
    • Add a poached egg or fried to your toast. 
    • Add canned tuna or meat slices/shreds to your toast.
    • Add smoked salmon or ham to your toast.
    • Use precooked beans or quinoa to make a quick soup with leftover vegetables. 
    • Use precooked quinoa or cracked oats and cook in 1 cup of milk, some butter. Heat until warm and creamy. Top with dried fruits, raisins, cranberries, and toasted nuts. Add honey to taste.

  • Scrambled Eggs Variations (2 eggs and 1/2 tablespoon milk are not listed):
    • Asparagus, crumbled fresh goat cheese and chopped smoked salmon
    • Ricotta cheese, tomato and spinach

Fix to the Rescue:
  • Overcooked Meat:
    • Thinly slice them and top it with chopped tomato, onion, and jalapeno. Add olive oil and fresh lemon juice to add lost moisture.
    • Shred the meat to make sliders for salad, soup, sandwich or wraps.
    • Cut them into dices or sticks and make fried rice or fried noodle.
    • Shred or cut them and mix with egg, cheese, chopped green onions. Spread them over tortillas and fold in half. Cook them in hot pan until cheese melt.
    • Cut them up and use them in burritos, omelets, quesadillas, quiches, frittata, scramble eggs or huevos rancheros.
    • Cut them up and use them in egg salad, potato salad, tuna salad.

  • Bruschetta Variations (Bread not listed):
    • Pesto, tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil
    • Crème fraiche or cream cheese, berries and fresh stone fruits diced
    • Ricotta cheese and Pepperonata

  • Chowder Variations:
    • Cheeseburger Chowder : ground beef, onion, carrots and cheddar cheese
    • French Fish Chowder : codfish and halibut, white wine, and tomatoes
    • Mexican Clam Chowder : white wine, clams, avocados, and cilantro
    • Midwest Corn Chowder : salt pork, corn, onions and potatoes
    • New England Clam Chowder : salt pork, onions, clams and potatoes
    • Southern Ham Chowder : ham, carrots, and potatoes
    • Spanish Clam-Chorizo Chowder : chorizo, garlic, and clams

  • Pizza Variations:
    - Use English Muffin or thick toast bread as pizza crust
    - tomato sauce, salt and pepper not listed
    - Bake in preheated oven at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes
    • Margherita : Chopped garlic, shredded mozzarella cheese, diced tomato, fresh basils
    • Hawaiian : shredded mozzarella, deli ham strips, pineapple chunks, pickled Jalapenos
    • Pesto Cheese : basil pesto, goat cheese, sliced kalamata olives, quartered artichoke hearts
    • Sausage Pepper : shredded mozzarella, cooked and sliced chicken sausage, chipotle, red pepper flakes, fresh basil leaves
